Wayne White Youth Baseball Sweeps Bancroft/Lyons

WAYNE – Following a pair of rescheduled games Sunday afternoon, it was back to the home diamond for the Wayne white didgets and broncos Monday night.

From the Summer Sports Complex, Wayne entertained Bancroft/Lyons.

During the didgets game, Wayne won 6-3 to remain perfect on the season at 6-0.

Spencer Moormeier posted a pair of singles and four RBI while Mason Heikes added a single and double for Wayne. Jaxson Kneifl, James Birkel and Blake Smith all singled.

Brody Munter picked up the win striking out seven batters as Chase Sturm worked two innings striking out four batters.

 

From the broncos game, both teams scored a pair of runs in the opening inning before Wayne took the lead with a 4-1 third. The Wayne white broncos added six more runs in the fourth while giving up two runs in the fifth to win 12-5. Wayne improves to 4-2 on the season.

Devin Anderson recorded a homerun, double and three RBI while Calvin Ankeny singled three times and drove in a run. Gavin Anderson and Jamison Meyer both singled twice and drove in two runs; Zander Liston singled twice and drove in a run; Mason Heikes doubled as Alex Rodriguez singled.

Gavin Anderson picked up the win in five innings allowing five runs (two earned) off two hits while striking out 14 batters and walking three. Meyer worked the final inning striking out and walking three batters.

The Wayne white didgets and broncos will next visit Logan View Gold on Thursday, June 13 at 6/7:45 p.m.
