NORTH BEND/BATTLE CREEK – With one more regular season outing remaining on the schedule this weekend, the Wayne Pony youth baseball teams were in action Wednesday evening.
The Wayne White Ponies visited North Bend while the Wayne Blue Ponies traveled to Battle Creek.
Wayne White (8-2) picked up a 16-3 victory over North Bend as Wayne Blue (9-1) suffered their first loss of the season falling 10-9 giving up the lead late at Battle Creek.
In the White Pony victory, Austin Heiser doubled twice, drove in four runs and scored while Mason Heikes singled three times and scored three runs.
Parker Patefield and Drew Reinhardt both singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice; Mason Karsky singled twice and drove in two runs; Zander Liston singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Gavin Anderson singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Taven Ocampo singled and scored; Blade Nelson singled; Carter Wiese scored twice as Sam Etter scored.
Heiser (43) picked up the victory in two innings allowing three earned runs off four hits while striking out two batters and walking two. Liston (37) worked two scoreless innings allowing one hit while striking out four batters. Karsky (22) pitched two scoreless innings allowing one hit while striking out one batter.

During the Blue Pony loss, Chase Sturm singled twice, doubled and drove in a run; Jaxon Chase singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored; Brodey Munter and James Birkel both singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice as Adrian Contreras singled and doubled.
Chase Nelson singled and scored twice; Herwin Bernal singled twice and drove in a run; Alejandro Archundia singled twice and scored; Brodrick Tiedtke singled and drove in a run as Dylan Jensen scored.
Combining for the loss were Contreras (55) in three innings allowing three runs (two earned) off five hits while striking out eight batters; Sturm (15) worked an inning allowing four runs (three earned) off three hits while walking one batter as Tiedtke (88) pitched four innings allowing three runs (two earned) off three hits while striking out and walking five batters each.

The Wayne White Ponies will conclude their regular season hosting Pierce while the Wayne Blue Ponies will visit Wakefield both on Sunday, June 26 at 7 p.m.
