Wayne White Didgets Top Pierce, Lone Undefeated Team In Division

PIERCE – With just one regular season game reaming in didget tri-county league play after Wednesday night, the top two teams squared off in search of securing the #1 seed.

In a rescheduled game from last Thursday, the Wayne white didgets visited Pierce where both teams were undefeated.

Wayne handed Pierce their first loss of the season as the white didgets won 12-0 to improve to 10-0 as Pierce fell to 9-1.

Mason Heikes, Jaxson Kneifl, Adrian Contreras, James Birkel, Chase Sturm and Jahiem Hamik all recorded multiple hits in the win. Brody Munter and Jenner Dorey each added a hit.

Heikes picked up the win in three and a third innings allowing one hit while striking out 10 batters. Kneifl then closed out the game striking out eight batters.

The Wayne white didgets will close out their regular season tonight hosting Schuyler Red from the Summer Sports Complex at 6 p.m. The white broncos have a bye.

For the Wayne blue didgets and broncos, they’ll host Stanton at 6/7:45 p.m. also this evening.
