Wayne White Didgets Remain Undefeated, Broncos Dominate Logan View Gold

LOGAN VIEW – The Wayne white youth baseball teams were in action Thursday night on the road.

Wayne played at Logan View Gold in tri-county league play.

From the didgets game, Wayne remained undefeated with a 9-6 victory to improve to 7-0.

Mason Heikes recorded a pair of doubles and a single while Brody Munter added two doubles for Wayne. Jaxson Kneifl singled and doubled, Adrian Contreras and Spencer Moormeier both singled as Jenner Dorcey singled.

Kneifl picked up the win in three and two-thirds striking out nine batters. Heikes closed out the game striking out four batters.

 

In the broncos contest, Logan View took the early 2-1 lead in the opening inning. Wayne then tallied three runs in the third and had a pair of five-run innings in the fifth and sixth to win 14-2. The Wayne white broncos are now 5-2.

Calvin Ankeny singled twice and tripled while Devin Anderson recorded a single, double and two RBI for Wayne. Gavin Anderson singled twice and drove in three runs; Kaleb Moormeier singled twice and drove in a run as Alex Rodriquez, Zander Liston and Aiden Bohnert all singled and drove in a run.

Rodriquez picked up the win in four innings allowing two earned runs off four hits while striking out six batters and walking one. Liston worked the final two innings striking out three batters and walking one.

The Wayne didget and bronco tournament team will be in action this weekend during the Wayne Youth Baseball Tournament. The Wayne white didget and bronco tri-co teams will next host the West Point Patriots at 6/7:45 p.m. Monday
