Wayne White Didgets Edge Emerson In Non-League Competition

WAYNE – A youth baseball team took part in non-league action Wednesday night.

The Wayne white didgets hosted Emerson from the Summer Sports Complex.

Wayne, who is 8-0 in tri-county league play, held off Emerson 7-4.

Blake Smith recorded a single, homerun and three RBI while James Birkel added a pair of singles and one RBI for Wayne. Adrian Contreras doubled and drove in a run; Jahiem Hamik doubled and drove in two runs as Maddux Heithold singled.

Contreras picked up the win allowing one hit and striking out four batters. Smith came away with the save fanning six batters.

No results were received from the Wayne blue didget game.

 

The Wayne white didgets will battle the only other undefeated didget team tonight at Pierce at 6 p.m. followed by the white broncos game around 7:45 p.m. pending field conditions. The blue didgets and broncos for Wayne are scheduled to host the Oakland-Craig Sluggers white at 6/7:45 p.m. this evening.
