Wayne White Didgets, Broncos Outscore Opponent 27-5

WEST POINT – Youth baseball from Wayne visited four of the West Point tri-county league teams Thursday night.

The Wayne white didgets and broncos played against the West Point Yankees while the blues took on the West Point Twins.

During the white contests, the Wayne didgets (4-0) won 11-1 while the Wayne broncos (2-2) won 16-4 over the West Point Yankees.

Brody Munter tripled twice and singled for the didgets while Jaxson Kneifl and Rylen Brakenhoff both added two doubles. Mason Heikes singled and doubled, Chase Sturm singled three times as James Birkel and Blake Smith both singled.

Kneifl picked up the win in four innings striking out 11 batters. Blake Smith closed out the final two innings striking out four batters.

 

Leading the way for the broncos was Kaleb Moormeier with three singles, a homerun and six RBI. Calvin Ankeny singled three times and drove in a run; Devin Anderson singled, tripled and drove in a run; both Gavin Anderson and Alex Rodriquez singled, doubled and drove in two runs; Zander Liston singled, doubled and drove in a run as Drew Reinhardt singled.

Devin Anderson picked up the win in two and a third innings allowing one hit while striking out six batters and walking one. Zander Liston started the opening two innings allowing four earned runs off five hits while striking out two batters and walking five. Drew Reinhardt worked two-thirds of an inning allowing a hit and walking three batters as Calvin Ankeny pitched the final inning allowing one hit while striking out and walking one batter each.

 

The Wayne white didgets and broncos will play a rescheduled game at the Homer Hawks during a rescheduled game this Sunday at 1/3 p.m. The Wayne blue broncos will also make up their game against Logan View blue in West Point Sunday at 2 p.m.
