WAKEFIELD – The Wayne White Broncos traveled to Wakefield for an exciting Monday night doubleheader.
From Graves Park, Wayne and Wakefield split a pair of games. Wakefield snapped the five-game winning streak that Wayne had going with a 5-4 victory while the White Broncos answered back in the nightcap with an 11-9 win. Wayne is now 6-3 on the season.
In the opening game, both teams scored a run in the first as Wakefield added two more runs in the third before both teams scored single runs in the fourth. Down a run, Wayne scored single runs in each of the fifth and sixth to tie the game at 4-4. Wakefield then scored the winning run in the home half of the seventh off a walk-off inside-the-park homerun from Mason Lamprecht to win 5-4.
Carter Wiese recorded a single and RBI while Drew Reinhardt singled and scored twice for Wayne. Zander Liston tallied the third single of the game for Wayne as Parker Patefield and Alex Rodriguez both scored.
Rodriguez suffered the loss in three innings allowing two runs (one earned) off one hit while striking out 10 batters and walking one. Reinhardt worked the opening three innings allowing three runs (two earned) off two hits while striking out five batters and walking two.
Lamprecht also tripled, drove in a run and scored once more while Cael Johnson singled, drove in a run and scored for Wakefield.
Johnson struck out 12 batters in six innings of work while Jacob Birkley added four strikeouts on the hill.

From the nightcap, Wakefield got off to a strong start with a 4-1 first and three more runs in the second to lead 7-1. The Wayne White Broncos then fired back with a four-run third and single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game at 7-7 entering the home half of the fifth. Wakefield regained the lead in the bottom of the inning but it was Wayne scoring four more runs and holding on for the 11-9 victory in the sixth.
Eight different White Broncos recorded a hit with multi hits coming from Sam Etter who also drove in a run and scored twice as well as Will Leseberg who scored. Gavin Anderson doubled and drove in two runs while Mason Karsky and Reinhardt both singled and drove in a run; Brodrick Tiedtke and Wiese both singled, drove in a run and scored; Lance Stange accounted for a RBI and run scored; Patefield singled and scored as Jenner Dorey scored three times. Austin Heiser also scored.
Patefield picked up the victory in the final two innings allowing two runs off one hit while striking out three batters. Dorey opened the game allowing seven earned runs in an inning of work off three hits while striking out two batters and walking six. Leseberg worked two and two-thirds of relief allowing one hit while striking out five batters and walking one.
