Wayne White, Blue Ponies Win Big

TILDEN/WAYNE – Both Wayne Pony baseball teams were in action Wednesday evening in Tri County League play.

From Tilden, Wayne White improved to 3-2 with a 30-1 victory over Tilden while Wayne Blue hosted Emerson-Hubbard and won 18-3 to remain undefeated at 5-0.

In the Wayne White Pony victory, Blade Nelson recorded a homerun, singled, drove in two total runs and scored four times; Taven Ocampo singled, doubled, drove in four runs and scored three times; Parker Patefield singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored three times as Mason Karsky doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Carter  Wiese singled three times, drove in a run and scored three times; Austin Heiser singled, drove in five runs and scored three runs; Sam Etter singled, drove two runs and scored four times; Gavin Anderson singled, drove in four runs and scored three times; Mason Heikes singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Jenner Dorey singled, drove in a run and scored twice as Drew Reinhardt accounted for two RBI and a run scored.

Patefield (40 pitches) picked up the win in two innings allowing one hit while striking out four batters and walking two. Karsky (38) worked two innings allowing one run off two hits while striking out five batters and walking one.

During the Wayne Blue Pony win, Adrian Contreras tripled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Chase Sturm singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice as James Birkel doubled and drove in two runs.

Brodey Munter singled twice, drove in four runs and scored three times; Jaxson Kneifl singled, drove in three runs and scored three times; Jaxon Chase singled and scored four times; Brodrick Tiedtke singled and drove in four runs; Alejandro Archundia singled and scored twice as Dylan Jensen singled and scored.

Kneifl (27) picked up the win in two innings striking out six batters. Contreras (12) worked an inning striking out three batters; Munter (16) pitched a third of an inning allowing three runs (two earned) off one hit while striking out and walking one batter each as Sturm (9) came in for two-thirds of an inning striking out and walking one batter each.

The Wayne White Ponies are next scheduled to host Wisner while the Wayne Blue Ponies will next visit Tilden both on Sunday, June 12 at 7 p.m.

The Wayne Pony Tournament team will be in Sioux Falls this weekend, the Wayne Bronco Tournament Team will compete in the 11-12 year old wood bat tournament in Wakefield on Sunday and the Wayne Didget Tournament team is off for the weekend.
