Wayne White, Blue Broncos Close Out Regular Season League Schedule With Wins

WAYNE – Tri-county league play ended Monday night for both the Wayne white and blue bronco youth baseball teams.

The Wayne whites visited Oakland-Craig Sluggers orange and won 15-6 to close out league play at 8-3.

Calvin Ankeny drove in three runs during his 2-for-3 performance while Devin Anderson added a pair of hits, three RBI and four runs scored for Wayne. Brayden Navarro-Bell scored three times going 2-for-3; Aidan Bohnert tacked on a hit and two runs scored; Kaleb Moormeier went 2-for-3 with three RBI, Gavin Anderson was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Zander Liston tallied a double to start off the first inning and scored twice.

Alex Rodriguez picked up the win in two innings striking out four batters. Ankeny and Jamison Meyer each worked two innings to close out the game.

 

For the Wayne blues, they entertained Pierce and used a pair of seven-run innings with a three-run second in-between to win 17-7 to now sit 9-2.

Carter Wiese singled twice, doubled and drove in two runs while Gavin Redden and Alex Frank both singled, doubled and drove in a run for Wayne. Jase Dean singled and drove in three runs; Keegan Rubendall singled twice and drove in three runs; Kaden Keller singled and drove in a run; Will Leseberg singled as Jace Jorgensen accounted for a RBI.

Caden Wiese picked up the win in three innings allowing four runs off three hits while striking out four batters and walking one. Brodrick Tiedtke worked an inning allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out one batter and walking three as Jorgensen pitched the final inning allowing an earned run while striking out two batters and walking one.

Both teams will await their league tournament schedule which begins Sunday, July 7.
