Wayne Volleyball Keeps On Winning, Sweeps Aquinas Catholic & North Bend

NORTH BEND – The Wayne High volleyball team took on a pair of opponents during an invitational Saturday.

From North Bend Central high school, WHS competed with David City Aquinas Catholic and the host NBC.

The Blue Devils swept Aquinas Catholic (25-23, 25-18) before winning in three sets against the Tigers (25-11, 23-25, 25-20). WHS is now 9-0 on the season and will next visit GACC on Tuesday, September 17.

In the win over Aquinas Catholic, Lauren Pick recorded 14 kills and 11 digs for a double-double followed by Emily Armstrong with six kills and a team-high 12 digs. Erin O’Reilly added three service aces as Kiara Krusemark tallied 24 set assists.

From the win against North Bend, Pick led WHS again at the net with 21 kills and 13 digs while Armstrong added eight kills and 10 digs. Sydney Redden recorded a team-high 20 digs with Hailey Backer totaling 10 digs while Mikaela McManigal and Rubie Klausen both had seven kills. Krusemark tallied 40 set assists.
