Wayne Tri County League Youth Baseball Results

WAYNE/DODGE – Youth baseball was back in action Monday night for Wayne Didgets while the Bronco games were rained out.

In the younger divisions, the Wayne Blue Didgets hosted Logan View Gold while the Wayne White Didgets visited Howells-Dodge.

From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne, Wayne Blue remained undefeated (3-0) in the Didget standings with a 3-2 victory over Logan View Gold (2-1).

Colston Starzl led the Wayne Blue Didgets at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored while Easton Endicott went two-for-two with two RBI and one run scored. Brayden Werher added a single and RBI while Easton Gamble and Carson Heiser both singled.

Starzl pitched five shutout innings allowing no hits while striking out 13 batters and walking one. Heiser earned the save in the final inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter.

 

For the Wayne White Didgets, they secured a 2-1 road win at Howells-Dodge in Dodge Monday night. Head coach Rod White stated both Merrick Miller and Evan Greve pitched great in the no-hitter effort. Wayne White improves to 2-1 while Howells-Dodge fell to 2-1.

The Wayne Blue Didgets are next scheduled to visit Pierce on Thursday, May 27 at 6 p.m. while the Wayne White Didgets will visit Tekamah-Herman Gold at 6 p.m. also Thursday.

 

From the Bronco games, the Wayne Blue home outing with Logan View Gold was called in the top of the second inning when the score was 2-1 due to rain. Both teams are hoping to get the game rescheduled. The Wayne White Broncos game was also rained out and will be made up at a later date.

The Wayne Blue Broncos will next visit Wakefield while the Wayne White’s will play at Tekamah-Herman Gold on Thursday, May 27 at 7:45 p.m.
