WAYNE/TEKAMAH – Five of the six youth baseball teams from Wayne took part in Tri County League regular season competition Monday evening.
From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne, Wayne Blue hosted Tekamah-Herman in the Ponies division where the team won 15-2; the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos visited Tekamah-Herman where the Didgets won 6-1 while the Broncos suffered a 12-3 loss as the Wayne White Didgets and Broncos hosted Stanton where the Didgets won 11-1 and the Broncos won a high scoring game, 21-12.
In the lone Pony Division game for Wayne, Wayne Blue scored a run in the second before outscoring Tekamah-Herman, 9-2 in the third to lead 10-2. Wayne added five more runs in the fourth to win 15-2. Wayne Blue improved to 3-2.
Jace Jorgensen doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Kaden Keller singled, drove in two runs and crossed the plate three times as Samuel Etter doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice. Brodrick Tiedtke and Mason Heikes both singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Jamison Meyer accounted for a RBI and run scored; Cole Clausen added a RBI as both Gavin Anderson and Brayden Navarro-Bell scored.
Meyer (57 pitches) secured the win in two innings allowing two earned runs off three hits while striking out six batters and walking one. Keller (45 pitches) worked the final three innings striking out eight batters and walking one.

During the Broncos games, Wayne Blue fell behind early to Tekamah-Herman, 3-0 in the first as T-H outscored Wayne, 4-1 in the second to lead 7-1. Tekamah-Herman added three more runs in the third and two in the fourth to lead 12-1 as Wayne scored two runs in the top of the fifth falling 12-3. Wayne Blue is now 2-3 on the season.
Parker Zara singled, doubled and scored while Spencer Moormeier singled twice and scored. Karter Hays singled and drove in a run; Aiden Petersen singled, Cale Eischeid accounted for a RBI and Blake Smith scored.
Smith (51 pitches) suffered the loss in two and a third allowing 10 runs (seven earned) off 11 hits while striking out three batters. Hays (33 pitches) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing two earned runs off three hits while striking out and walking two batters each.

Wayne White fell behind after the first inning, 2-1 but poured in six runs during the second to regain the lead. Wayne White outscored Stanton, 14-1 in the third while Stanton scored seven runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the fifth to fall, 21-12. Wayne White improved to 4-1.
Herwin Bernal singled, tripled, drove in a run and scored twice; Will Patefield tripled, drove in a run and scored as Jenner Dorey singled, drove in four runs and scored twice. James Birkel singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Tate Holz singled, drove in two runs and scored; Camden Hall and Trecyn Ocampo both singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Shawn Thompson singled, drove in two runs and scored; Maddox Heithold scored three times; Laken Stange scored twice as Dylan Jensen scored once.
Dorey (47 pitches) secured the win in two innings allowing two runs off two hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Patefield (18 pitches) worked an inning allowing one run while striking out three batters. Heithold (47 pitches) pitched two-thirds of an inning allowing seven earned runs off two hits while striking out one batter and walking six. Birkel (44 pitches) closed out the final inning and a third allowing two earned runs off two hits while striking out two batters and walking three.

From the Didgets games, Wayne Blue improved to 6-0 to remain the only undefeated team in the Didget standings as Tekamah-Herman fell to 4-1.
Colston Starzl recorded a homerun, singled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Brayden Wehrer tripled, drove in two runs and scored as Kash Haase added a triple. Easton Gamble singled twice; Carson Heiser singled and scored; Max Brink and Kyle Brogren both scored as Easton Endicott accounted for a sacrifice-fly RBI.
Endicott and Starzl combined for the no-hitter with 15 strikeouts. Endicott allowed one run in five innings while striking out 12 batters as Starzl struck out all three batters in the final inning.
Wayne White improved to 4-2 with their 11-1 home victory over Stanton.
The Wayne Pony teams will both be in action on Wednesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. where Wayne White will host Stanton and Wayne Blue welcomes in Schuyler.
The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will next host Logan View Blue on Thursday, June 10 at 6/7:45 p.m. The Wayne White Didgets and Broncos will visit Logan View Gold at 6/7:45 p.m. in Scribner also Thursday.
