WAYNE – For the first time this season, the Wayne State College women’s and men’s basketball teams will welcome in cross division opponents.
From Rice Auditorium, WSC will host MSU Moorhead on Friday, January 17 at 5:30/7:30 p.m. before Northern State comes to town on Saturday, January 18 at 3:30/5:30 p.m.

The Wayne State women are 11-5 overall and a part of a four-way tie for second in the NSIC South Division at 6-4 (Winona/Minnesota State/Concordia) as the Wildcat men are 6-13 overall and 3-7 NSIC (7th in South).
The MSU Moorhead women sit second in the North Division (8-2) with a 13-4 overall record while the Northern State women enter the weekend 11-5 (7-3 NSIC/T-3rd North).
Last year, MSU Moorhead defeated the Wildcat women 71-57 while the ‘Cats won at Northern State 60-56.
On the men’s side, the Dragons are 9-7 (5-5 NSIC/T-4th North) and Northern State is tied for first in the North Division with Minnesota Duluth at 8-2 in conference and 12-4 overall.
A year ago, MSU Moorhead topped Wayne State 80-76 as the Wildcats edged the Wolves 84-81.
