Wayne State Women, Men Set For Road NSIC Double Header Weekend

FAYETTE, IA/WINONA, MN – After opening their league schedule last Saturday, the Wayne State College women’s and men’s basketball teams will take to the road for back-to-back NSIC games this weekend.

WSC will visit Upper Iowa University Friday night at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. followed by road games with Winona State on Saturday at 3:30/5:30 p.m.

The Wayne State women sit 4-2 overall (0-1 NSIC) while Upper Iowa is 3-5 (0-1 NSIC) and Winona State is 3-2 (1-0 NSIC). Wayne State suffered an 81-73 road loss with Augustana while WSU defeated the Peacocks (74-48) last Saturday.

WSC defeated both Winona State (74-37) and Upper Iowa (89-55) in Wayne while also winning on the road at Upper Iowa (69-38) and Winona State (60-59) last season.

The Wayne State men have won five straight to sit 6-1 (1-0 NSIC), Upper Iowa is 3-3 (0-1 NSIC) as the Warriors have won four straight to sit 4-2 (1-0 NSIC).

WSC recently won at Augie (65-54) as Winona State defeated Upper Iowa (72-50) last Saturday.

Last season, WSC defeated Winona State (69-67) and suffered an 84-76 loss to Upper Iowa in Wayne while WSC loss at Upper Iowa (73-68) and Winona State (89-71).
