MINOT, ND – #13 Wayne State College started a weekend road trip in the state of North Dakota with a win in straight sets.
WSC visited Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota Friday night.
Wayne State went to work and swept the Beavers (25-16, 15-12, 25-14) to improve to 21-5 (12-5 NSIC) as Minot State fell to 3-23 (2-15 NSIC). The win marked the third straight victory by sweeping their opponent after dropping back-to-back in late October.
Tarrin Beller and Kelsie Cada (eight digs) paced Wayne State at the net with 12 kills each followed by Jaci Brahmer and Maddie Knobbe with six kills each. Dig leaders went to Hope Carter with 15 and Haley Kauth 10 while Rachel Walker finished with 31 set assists and three blocks. Beller and Brahmer both had two blocks.
Cada tallied two service aces followed by one each from Maddie Duffy, Kauth and Walker.
The Wildcats outhit Minot State, .260 – .106 while finishing with five service aces (two from Minot) as the Beavers led the block department (5-4).
#13 Wayne State College will next visit University of Mary Saturday at 11 a.m.
