WAYNE/CROOKSTON, MN – A series of eight consecutive home games will continue for the Wayne State College softball team while the Wildcat baseball is back on the road this weekend.

From the Pete Chapman Softball Complex, the Wildcat softball team will host Minot State and University of Mary on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 – 10 as the WSC baseball team visits Minnesota Crookston for a three-game series which has been moved back a day.

The Wayne State softball team is 5-24 overall (2-6 NSIC, T-14th) after splitting their home opener on April 6 falling 8-5 and winning 7-3 against Upper Iowa.

Minot State enters 24-8 (5-3 NSIC, T-6th) while University of Mary is 4-24 (2-6, T-14th) on the season. Both doubleheaders are scheduled for noon and 2 p.m. in Wayne.

The Wayne State College baseball team is 13-13 (7-6 NSIC, 8th) after having their road doubleheader on April 5 at Northern State ruled a no contest due to weather. WSC recently went 2-1 against Bemidji State last weekend in Wayne.

Minnesota Crookston is 12-18 (4-7 NSIC, 11th).

Due to inclement weather this week and to allow more time to get the field ready in Crookston, Minnesota, the Wayne State at UMC baseball series will now start with a single game on Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m. and a doubleheader on Monday, April 11 at noon and 2 p.m.
