Wayne State Women Fall Short To Winona State, 74-69

WAYNE – Due to COVID-19 protocols with the Winona State University men, the Friday night NSIC South Division men’s basketball game has been canceled for the Wayne State men.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, Wayne State’s game at #24 Upper Iowa Saturday at 3:30 p.m. is still on as scheduled.  The Wildcat men are 7-4 on the season and 4-1 in the NSIC South while the 24th-ranked Peacocks are 10-1 and 4-1 in league play.

Per NCAA and NSIC procedures, the games for Winona State vs. Wayne State (Friday) and vs. Augustana (Saturday) will be classified as ‘no-contests’. The Warrior men are 6-4 and 2-3 in the league.

The Wayne State College women’s road weekend will go on as scheduled (time was in-correct on NSIC website).

WSC is 6-3 (3-2 NSIC) and will visit Winona State (4-5/1-4) at their scheduled time of 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 17 before traveling to Fayette, IA and visiting Upper Iowa (2-8/0-5) at 5:30 p.m. also on Saturday, December 18 (following the men).

All three games will be carried on The City ‘KCTY’ 98.9/1590 and waynedailynews.com. Pregame show coverage for Friday’s lone women’s game will be at 7 p.m. while the Saturday doubleheader will start at 3 p.m.
