Wayne State College Men Lose to Sioux Falls, 81-79; Wayne State Women Fall Short 76-75

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Following single digit divisional home victories on Thursday in Wayne, the Wayne State College men’s and women’s basketball teams will compete on the road for the first time since early mid-November.

From the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, WSC will visit the University of Sioux Falls Cougars on Saturday, December 4. The men’s contest will be played first at 3:30 p.m. followed by the women’s game around 5:30 p.m.

In the men’s contest, Wayne State College won their fifth home game of the season thanks to a 68-65 win versus SMSU. WSC improved to 5-3 (2-0 South) and are 5-1 on the home court. The Wildcat men join Minnesota State-Mankato (7-0) as the lone 2-0 team in the South Division.

USF suffered a 72-67 home loss to Augie falling to 4-4 (0-2 South) and 2-1 on their home court.

 

The Wildcat women improved to 5-1 (2-0 NSIC South Division) thanks to a 69-65 overtime victory over Southwest Minnesota State on Thursday. WSC also joins Minnesota State-Mankato (6-0) as the lone 2-0 South Division team. Wayne State is 1-0 in their lone road contest this season.

For Sioux Falls, they secured a 73-60 win over in-town rival Augustana University to now sit 4-3 (1-1 South). USF is 2-1 on their home court.
