Wayne State College Scholarship Golf Outing Slated For June 3

WAYNE – With the beginning of June approaching, Wayne State College is preparing for their annual CatBacker Golf outing in support of scholarships.

According to a release from Wayne State College, the WSC CatBacker is scheduled for Friday, June 3 at the Wayne Country Club.

A message from Director of Athletics, Mike Powicki said, “in order for WSC Athletics to have success we rely on the proceeds from events like this to fund student-athlete scholarships.”

This is a four-person scramble and an entry deadline is Friday, May 27.

Registration and breakfast will open June 3 between 8 – 9:15 a.m. followed by a welcome and orientation from 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. A shotgun start is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. as lunch will be provided on the course from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and dinner following golf from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. A program and awards ceremony will conclude the evening from 5:30 – 6 p.m.

Team entry fees for the four golfers include $440 (you plan to provide two carts); $490 (WSC will provide one card) or $540 (WSC will provide two carts). An individual entry is $115 (you plan to provide own cart) or $145 (includes a half cart for the tournament).

Other day of event options include team pick-a-putt (four pick-a-putts) and team mulligans (each golfer gets two mulligans) for $40 each or individual pick-a-put (any ball sitting on the green can be ‘picked-up’ for one putt) and individual mulligan (gets one golfer two mulligans) for $10 each. Also, Hole #16 is a PAR 5 and for $10 a team can Buy-A-Drive and hit from the drop zone at 100 yards from the pin.
