Wayne State Drops Season-Opening Game, Four Finish In Double Figures

ORANGE, CA –The Wayne State College men’s basketball team began their season with a trip out west to Orange, California.

WSC started the CCA Division II Tip-off Classic against Ferris State.

After building a 45-35 halftime lead, Ferris State pulled away in the second half to win 100-78.

Jordan Janssen paced Wayne State in scoring with 21 points while adding seven rebounds. Other double figure performers came from Nate Mohr with 17, Nick Ferrarini with 15 and Al’Tavius Jackson with 12 points.

Wayne State shot 23-51 (45.1%) from the field; 6-15 (40%) from behind the arc and 26-35 (74.3%) from the foul line.


Ferris State finished 56.6% from the field and hit 10-22 from the three-point line.

Wayne State will next face Concordia-Irvine Saturday evening.
