Wayne Softball Outscores Triangular Opponents, 28-3

SCHUYLER – The first of back-to-back triangular matches were held on Monday for the Wayne High softball team.

From Schuyler, WHS joined Cuming County (West Point-Beemer/Bancroft-Rosalie) for pair of games against Class B opponents.

Wayne High shutout Schuyler, 13-0 while also winning 15-3 over Cuming County. WHS is now 8-3 on the season.

In the shutout victory against Schuyler, Logan Miller doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice; Jordyn Gamble tripled and scored; Reagan McGuire recorded a solo homerun, single and two runs scored as Rylin Hall also doubled, drove in two runs and scored.

Delaney Kruse finished with three singles, a RBI and two runs scored; Jersi Jensen singled twice, drove in a run and scored; Sammi Gubbels singled twice; Taytem Ellis singled, drove in a run and scored; Liberty Titiml singled and drove in a run; Mackenzie Nissen singled and scored; Kierah Haase scored twice as Kylen Robbins accounted for a RBI.

Gubbels (55) picked up the complete game victory in four innings allowing one hit while striking out six batters.

During the win over Cuming County, Haase singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice; McGuire doubled, drove in a run and scored three times as Kruse doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Nissen singled twice; Miller singled and scored twice; Titiml singled, drove in two runs and scored; Ellis and Hall both singled, drove in a run and scored; Nyla Bolles singled and scored twice as Gamble scored twice.

Nissen (55) picked up the complete game victory in three innings allowing three runs (two earned) off two hits while striking out three batters and walking two.
