Wayne Seventh Grade Girls Secure Road Win, Eighth Grades Fall To Clarkson/Leigh

CLARKSON – As the Wayne Junior High girls prepare for a weekend road game, the Blue Devils were in action Thursday evening on the road.

The Blue Devil seventh and eighth graders visited Clarkson/Leigh.

Wayne’s seventh grade team secured a 35-14 victory while the Clarkson/Leigh eighth graders topped Wayne, 34-18.

Haley Kramer paced Wayne in scoring during the seventh-grade game with 13 points. Elle Powicki (eight), Reagan McGuire (six), Mackenzie Nissan (six) and Claire Lutter (two) also provided scoring in the victory.

Kyla Krusemark led the Blue Devil eighth graders in scoring with 11 points during the loss. Rylin Hall (five), Haley Kramer (one) and Elle Powicki (one) also scored.

The Wayne Junior High girls basketball teams will next visit Pierce on Saturday, December 5 at 10 a.m. before their home opener is scheduled for Monday, December 7 vs. Guardian Angels Central Catholic. The games will begin at 4:30 p.m. from the elementary school.
