Wayne Post 43 Seniors Run-Rule Hooper-Scribner, Remain Undefeated Entering Springfield Tourney

HOOPER – As the Juniors will be off until next week, the Wayne Post 43 Seniors prepared for a weekend tournament by taking on Hooper-Scribner Wednesday.

Wayne made quick work of Hooper-Scribner winning 13-4 in five innings improving to 12-0 on the season.

Gunnar Jorgensen recorded three singles; Reid Korth doubled, tripled and scored twice while Josh Lutt singled, doubled and scored twice for Wayne. Trevor DeBoer added a double and scored; Jacob Kneifl singled and scored twice; Blake Bartos and Hagan Miller both scored twice as Brock Hopkins and Tyrus Eischeid each crossed the plate once.

Eischeid picked up the win in three innings allowing five hits while striking out two batters and walking one. Lutt worked two innings allowing one hit while striking out two batters and walking one.

The Wayne Post 43 Seniors will next compete in the Springfield Tournament opening with Waverly at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17.
