Wayne Post 43 Juniors Move To 20-0, Win RBL Tournament 

WEST POINT – Championship Saturday took over West Point where four Ralph Bishop League American Legion tournament games were held.

From Anderson Field, North #1 Wayne Post 43 competed against South #2 Pender over the weekend.

Post 43 continued their hot streak and were crowned the RBL Junior Champion (20-0) by winning 6-2 over Pender.

Pender took the early 2-1 lead in the first inning before the Wayne Post 43 Juniors followed with a four-run second inning and one more in the third to win 6-2.

Wyatt Heikes singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored while Aiden Liston singled and drove in a run. Gavin Redden and Zach McManigal both singled and scored; Jase Dean singled; Kaden Keller scored twice as Ryan Karsky scored.

Redden (90) picked up the complete game victory in seven innings allowing two runs off four hits while striking out five batters and walking one.

The Wayne Post 43 Juniors will next compete in the Class B Area 5 Tournament hosted at Hank Overin Field in Wayne from Friday, July 8 – Wednesday, July 13.

 

Three other games were played on Saturday.

Senior RBL Final: North #1 Battle Creek defeated South #1 Columbus Lakeview, 3-0

Senior consolation: South #3 Pender defeated North #2 South Sioux City, 11-10

Junior consolation: North #2 Battle Creek defeated South #1 Arlington, 12-7
