WAYNE – Both the Wayne Pony and Wayne Didget youth baseball teams competed in first round action during the Tri County League Tournament on Tuesday.
From the Summer Sports Complex in the Pony Division, #3 Wayne Blue welcomed in #14 North Bend while #4 Wayne White hosted #13 Logan View.
Wayne Blue (11-1) defeated North Bend, 12-8 and will next host #6 Pierce on Thursday, June 30 at 6 p.m.
Jaxson Kneifl recorded a homerun, two total RBI and three runs scored while Herwin Bernal singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored.
Brodrick Tiedtke singled twice, drove in two runs and scored; Chase Sturm singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Jaxon Chase singled, drove in two runs and scored; Chase Nelson singled and scored twice as Adrian Contreras, Dylan Jensen and James Birkel all singled and scored.
Tiedtke (8) picked up the win in two-thirds of an inning striking out one batter. Kneifl (11) worked an inning striking out two batters. Sturm (89) pitched four and two-thirds allowing five runs (one earned) off five hits while striking out 11 batters and walking two. Jensen (14) came in for two-thirds allowing two earned runs off two hits while walking one batter.

Wayne White (10-2) picked up a 15-2 victory over Logan View. #4 Wayne White Ponies will next host #5 Howells-Dodge on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. (following Blue Pony game).
Blade Nelson singled three times, drove in five runs and scored twice while Austin Heiser singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Zander Liston singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice; Sam Etter singled, drove in two runs and scored; Mason Heikes and Drew Reinhardt both singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Carter Wiese singled and scored twice; Taven Ocampo singled and scored; Parker Patefield singled and drove in a run as Jenner Dorey scored.
Heikes (56) picked up the victory in four innings allowing two earned runs off three hits while striking out seven batters and walking one. Nelson (18) worked an inning allowing one hit while striking out three batters.

Also in Wayne, in the Didget Gold Tournament (Upper Division), #7 Wayne Blue hosted #10 Howells-Dodge while #13 Wayne White visited #4 Emerson-Hubbard on Tuesday.
Wayne Blue dropped a 3-2 decision to Howells-Dodge ending their season at 8-4.
Brayden Wehrer singled, doubled and drove in a run while Merrick Miller doubled, drove in a run and scored. Sy Chase also scored.
Two pitchers combined for the loss being Miller (73) in five innings allowing one run off two hits while striking out 12 batters as Wehrer (25) worked an inning allowing two earned runs off two hits while striking out two batters and walking two.

Wayne White suffered a 6-2 loss at Emerson-Hubbard to end their season at 6-6.
Brayden McManigal doubled and scored while Isaiah Zarate singled. Mason Jech accounted for a RBI as Bradley Hanson scored.
A trio of pitchers combined for the loss being Dreu Jensen (74) in three and a third innings allowing three earned runs off three hits while striking out five batters and walking seven; Hudson Kramer (24) worked two-thirds allowing three earned runs while striking out one batter and walking two as Benjamin Patefield (15) pitched an inning allowing one hit while striking out three batters.

The Tri County League Bronco Division Tournaments will open on Wednesday, June 29. In the Bronco Gold Tourney (Upper Division), #7 Wayne Blue (8-3) will face #10 Wayne White (7-4) from the Summer Sports Complex at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
