Wayne Ponies Win At Pierce, White Didgets Suffer Loss To Ponca

PIERCE – With a pair road games left on the schedule entering Wednesday, the Wayne Pony youth baseball team took part in a mid-week league outing.

Wayne visited Pierce and took control of the game winning 15-3 in five innings to now sit 7-1 on the season.

Kaleb Moormeier and Kaden Keller both went 3-for-3 with a walk while Calvin Ankeny added a 2-for-2 performance with a double. Dom Dominguez, Gavin Redden, Devin Anderson, Jase Dean, Alex Frank and Ryan Karsky all added singles in the game.

Devin Anderson picked up the complete game victory in five innings allowing three runs off two hits while striking out eight batters and walking another three.


The Wayne White Didgets were also in action Wednesday evening as they lost 10-2 to Ponca. Jahiem Hamik posted a hit and run scored for Wayne. The Wayne White Didgets are now 3-6 on the season and will end their regular season schedule tonight visiting the West Point Patriots at 6 p.m.

The Wayne Pony youth baseball team will close out their regular season on Sunday, July 19 at 7 p.m. visiting Pender before starting the league tournament next Tuesday night from the Summer Sports Complex with an opponent to be determined.
