Wayne Ponies Hold Off North Bend, End Tri-Co League Schedule Sunday

WAYNE – The Wayne pony youth baseball team took part in their final regular season home game with still another week remaining in tri-county league play.

From the Summer Sports Complex, Wayne entertained North Bend.

Wayne picked up the 6-1 victory over North Bend and are now 15-4 overall (9-1 tri-co).

Cooper Zara recorded a single and double while Calvin Starzl and James Dorcey each added a triple for Wayne. Dom Dominguez also tallied a hit as Kaden Hopkins drove in two runs off a sacrifice fly and groundout.

Wyatt Heikes picked up the win in five innings allowing one run off one hit while striking out two batters and walking six. James Dorcey worked the final two innings striking out six batters.

The Wayne ponies will end their regular season league schedule at Oakland/Craig on Sunday, June 30 at 7 p.m.
