Wayne Ponies Close Out Regular Season With Road Victory, Earn #2 Seed In League Tourney

PENDER – The Wayne Pony youth baseball team concluded their regular season with four consecutive wins following a one-run loss earlier this month.

Wayne visited Pender Sunday evening and won 6-3 improving to 8-1 on the season.

Kaden Keller went 3-for-4 with a double while Alex Frank went 2-for-3 for Wayne. Devin Anderson added a 1-for-3 performance with a single and hit by pitch while Dom Dominguez went 1-for-4 with a double. Kaleb Moormeier, Jase Dean and Keegan Rubendall all singled.

Moormeier started the opening three innings allowing two runs off two hits while striking out five batters. Devin Anderson came in for three innings of relief allowing one run off three hits while striking out five batters and walking one as Keller earned the save in the final inning walking one batter.

The Wayne Pony youth baseball team earned the #2 seed in the league tournament which will begin on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. against #7 West Point Twins.
