NORFOLK – A pair of ranked northeast Nebraska football teams will go to work tonight in Norfolk.
From Veterans Memorial Field, #8 in the Omaha World Herald Norfolk Catholic will entertain #6 Wayne during a 7 p.m. kickoff this evening. WHS is rated sixth in both the Lincoln Journal Star and OWH.
The Blue Devils are coming off a 31-12 road win at Battle Creek last Friday improving to 4-1 on the season and are 3-0 away from home. For the Knights, they topped Ponca (38-20) last Thursday and are 2-2 after having a week four game at Oakland-Craig canceled.
The two teams haven’t played for two years as it’s been a one-sided affair favoring Norfolk Catholic for a couple decades. The Knights last won in Wayne on 2017, 35-0 while Norfolk Catholic defeated WHS the year prior in Norfolk, 56-35.
