Wayne JV Wrestling Results From Wisner-Pilger Holiday Invite

WISNER – A total of 16 northeast Nebraska junior varsity wrestling programs were represented during a holiday invite to open the new year on Monday.

From Wisner-Pilger Public Schools, Wayne High sent seven wrestlers to the Wisner-Pilger Holiday JV Invite.

As a team, Wayne JV placed fifth with 84 points.

Schuyler won the JV invite with 247.5 points, followed by Pierce with 186 points, Tekamah-Herman took third with 109 points and BRLD finished fourth with 89 points.

Wayne JV leaders came from Hunter Foote (120) and Colton Sheppard (170) in first; Kasen York (126) placed runner-up; Zander Billheimer (120), Ty Zach (132) and Matthew Kufner Rodriguez (170) all took third as Zander Liston (132) came in fourth.

The Wayne High girls and boys varsity wrestling programs will take to the road this evening for a triangular at Plainview with Boone Central. The triangular will begin at 6 p.m.

An area high school wrestling outing today will be highlighted by the Pender Duals. Joining the Pendragon wrestling program will be BRLD, Creighton, Madison, Pender, Ponca and Winnebago. Competition will get underway starting at 4:30 p.m.
