COLERIDGE – With two regular season games remaining on the schedule along with a pair of home tournaments, the Wayne Junior High boys basketball teams took to the road for a late January outing.
Wayne visited Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Thursday night in Coleridge.
The seventh-grade team was victorious on the road, 32-25 while the eighth graders suffered a 40-38 loss to LCC.
From the seventh-grade game, Wayne led 15-12 at half before winning 32-25.
Leading the way for Wayne seventh graders were Jace Jorgensen with 12 points followed by Gavin Anderson and Carter Wiese with seven points each. Parker Patefield added three points and Drew Miller had a point.
Mar’Keidron King led the Wayne eighth graders with 14 points. Kaden Keller added nine points, Colson Nelsen had eight points, Gavin Redden poured in five points and Alex Rodriguez finished with two points.
Wayne High will host Battle Creek, Norfolk Catholic and Pierce this weekend during a home tournament starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Wayne will open with Battle Creek.
