WAYNE/WAKEFIELD – As Friday night high school football is right around the corner, the NSAA fall sport is a month into their season and two more games are scheduled to be aired on KTCH/KCTY.
Both Wayne High and Wakefield will be at home on Friday, September 20. The Blue Devils will host #9 Columbus Lakeview at 7 p.m. from Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College while the Trojans will entertain Lutheran High Northeast also at 7 p.m. from Eaton Field during their homecoming game.
Wayne has won two in a row to sit 2-1 on the season as the Vikings enter 3-0 outscoring their opponents 125-12. Last season, Lakeview topped Wayne 27-6 in Columbus to mark the fourth win for LV in the past five meetings. Wayne High’s lone win during that time span came in 2014 in Columbus (46-20).

Also, Wakefield will be hosting Lutheran High Northeast during an eight-man football showdown for the Big Red Country ‘KTCH’ 104.9 game of the week. The Trojans are 1-1 after coming off a two-point road loss to Howells-Dodge last week while the Eagles are 2-0 and coming off an 87-28 home win over Omaha Nation. A year ago, Wakefield won a back-and-forth high scoring battle at Lutheran High Northeast 70-66.
