Wayne High Volleyball Takes Two Matches During Road Triangular

NORTH BEND – Following an early week road loss, the Wayne High volleyball team competed in the North Bend Central Triangular with David City Aquinas Catholic Saturday .

From the NBC High School Tiger Arena on Saturday, WHS swept North Bend Central (25-17, 25-17) before winning in three sets over Aquinas Catholic (15-25, 25-21, 25-22) to improve to 7-2 on the season.

In the win over the Tigers, Lauren Pick recorded seven kills and five digs, followed by six kills from Emily Armstrong and Ashton Boyer added five kills and five digs. Allyson Avery posted a team-high 11 set assists as Kiara Krusemark added 10 assists.

During the victory over Aquinas Catholic, Pick paced WHS with 13 kills and seven digs while Armstrong and Boyer both had six kills. Avery tacked on 18 set assists with Krusemark following with another 10 assists. Boyer recorded a team-high 13 digs with Armstrong right behind at12 digs. Erin O’Reilly also picked up five service aces.

Aquinas Catholic swept North Bend Central (25-18, 25-14) to improve to 5-2 as NBC fell to 3-5.

The Wayne High volleyball team will next host Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m.
