COLUMBUS – After dominating a pair of triangular matches earlier this week, outscoring four opponents 51-1, the Wayne High softball team prepares for a road contest marking their fifth game in four days.
Wayne High (18-0) will visit Columbus High (8-10) at 6:30 p.m. with a Junior Varsity match to open Thursday, September 13 at 5 p.m.
The Blue Devils defeated Schuyler (12-0) and West Point-Beemer (14-0) hosting a triangular on Monday while picking up wins over Boone Central/Newman Grove (11-1) and the host, Pierce (14-0) on Tuesday in Pierce. In the month of September (eight games), Wayne has outscored teams 93-5.
The Discoverers are coming off a win over Omaha Central (13-1) on Tuesday.
Last year, WHS shutout Columbus High in Wayne, 12-0.
