Wayne High Girls Varsity Bowling Crowned Invite Champions, Boys Place Runner-Up

NORFOLK – Varsity bowling returned to action for Wayne High after opening with a pair of dual competitions earlier this month.

From Kings Lanes in Norfolk, the Blue Devils competed in the Boone Central Invite.

Wayne’s varsity girls bowling team won the invite after defeating Lexington in the finals. The Blue Devils boys placed runner-up following a loss to Fremont in the finals.

The Wayne girls defeated Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (7-1), Hartington/Newcastle (6-2) and the host Boone Central (6-2) with a total of 2,070 pins. For the boys, WHS topped Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (8-0), Hartington/Newcastle (7-1) and Boone Central (7-1) for a total of 2,236 pins en route to the finals.

The Wayne High varsity bowling teams will next host Thurston Cuming on Friday, December 18 from Wildcat Lanes in Wayne.
