Wayne High Girls Golf Places Fourth, Bentjen Takes 13th

LAUREL – The Wayne High girls golf team concluded a stretch of five outings in 10-days over the weekend.

From the Cedar View Country Club, WHS competed in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invite.

Wayne High finished fourth in the team race with a 479 while the top Blue Devil golfer was Natalie Bentjen placing 13th with a 110.

Battle Creek shot a team best 387 while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge finished second and West Holt third both with a 414. LCC JV took fifth (482) and Elkhorn Valley placed sixth (508) while Crofton and Battle Creek JV had golfers in action.

Megan Lutt of Battle Creek won the 18-hole course followed by Lydia Stenka (West Holt) and Jadyn Kinkaid (LCC) all shooting a 91.

Other WHS results came from Cassidy Manz who just missed a medal (16th – 114), Riley Haschke (20th – 119), Bailee Leise (30th – 136) and Jayden Calhoon (33rd – 169).

The Wayne High girls golf team will next compete in the Mid State Conference meet on Thursday, October 3 from the Albion Country Club.
