Wayne High Girls Golf Invite Results

WAYNE – For the second Friday in two weeks the Wayne High girls golf team took part in an invitational, but this time at home.

From the Wayne Country Club, WHS hosted the 2019 Wayne Invite.

Papillion La-Vista shot the low team score with a 403 followed by Battle Creek with a 414 and Hartington Cedar Catholic/Hartington-Newcastle (431) in third. Oakland-Craig placed fourth with a 441, Pierce took fifth with a 447, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge shot a 475 to finish sixth, Thurston-Cuming placed seventh with a 508 and Elkhorn concluded the team scoring with a 535.

Individually, Sydney Erickson from Pierce shot a 90 with Brooklyn Wrice of Papillion La-Vista right behind with a 92.

Wayne High’s top golfer was Natalie Bentjen placing seventh with a 100. Bailee Leise shot a 131 with Riley Haschke shot a 136.

Leading the way for HCC/HNS was Halie Noecker with a 102 (13th); Jadyn Kinkaid also shot a 102 for LCC (11th) while Jazzmin Nolze paced Thurston-Cuming with a 114.

The Wayne High girls golf team will next compete in a road triangular against Battle Creek and Elkhorn Valley on Tuesday, September 3. The triangular was previously scheduled in Wayne, but moved to Fairplay Golf Course in Norfolk at 4 p.m.
