Wayne High Falls 3-0 On Home Court

WAYNE – With a road triangular approaching early next week, the Wayne High volleyball program welcomed in a Class C2 opponent Thursday night.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School, WHS hosted Lutheran High Northeast.

The visiting Eagles picked up the victory in straight sets of 25-17, 25-12, 25-19. Lutheran High Northeast is now 8-8 while the Blue Devils fell to 1-11.

Kate Hill recorded a team-high seven kills to go along with 21 digs while Haley Kramer added four kills and a team-high 26 digs. Faith Powicki tacked on 20 digs, Jaycee Bruns finished with 13 digs and a kill as Isabelle Francis led the team in assists with 15 and had two digs.

Amelia Legler tallied three kills and two digs, Emma Forsythe had a kill and three digs as other digs came from Elle Powicki (two) and Jacen Hasemann (one).

Service aces came from Bruns and Hill both with one. Bruns, Legler, Francis and Forsythe all had a block.

The Wayne High volleyball team will next compete in the Norfolk Catholic Triangular along with Columbus Lakeview on Tuesday, September 20.
