Wayne High Boys Golf Finishes Third, Sharpe And Walling Earn Medals

NORFOLK – With now a week off from competition until district action, the Wayne High boys golf team closed out their regular season on Monday.

From the Norfolk Country Club, the Blue Devils joined six other teams during the Norfolk Catholic Invite.

With a team score of 365, the Blue Devil boys golf team placed third. Individually, Drew Sharpe posted an 85 to finish fifth followed by Tanner Walling in eighth place with an 87. Other varsity participants were Bo Armstrong (92), Kyran Bartos (101) and Camron Weaselhead (104).

Columbus Scotus won the Norfolk Catholic Invite with a 331, followed by Norfolk High JV in second with a 354, Wayne High took third with their 365, Battle Creek placed fourth (380) and Boone Central rounded out the top five teams with a 381. Norfolk Catholic (386) and Norfolk Catholic JV (410) were the other teams in action.

Nolan Fleming from Columbus Scotus finished as individual champion with a 79 followed by teammate Nick Fleming with an 81 in second place.

Landen Roeber shot a 138 for the Wayne JV team followed by Dillon Hanau with a 162. Caden Wiese was forced to withdraw do to illness.

The Wayne High boys golf team will next host the B-2 District on Tuesday, May 17 at the Wayne Country Club.
