Wayne High Boys Bowling Tops Norfolk Catholic/Lutheran High Northeast In Home Dual

WAYNE – After a two-and-a-half-week break from action, the Wayne High boys bowling team returned to their home alley Thursday evening.

From Wildcat Lanes in Wayne, the Blue Devils welcomed in Norfolk Catholic/Lutheran High Northeast during a home dual.

The host Blue Devils started the night throwing strikes and picking up spares which kept up the pressure.

Wayne would go on to shoot their best team score of the season in game one with a 988 and take the team game victory.

Wayne’s 4th and 5th position bowlers would battle for high game with Brogan Foote striking out to defeat Calvin Starzl 256 – 253. Other scorers for Wayne were Tanner Sievers (191), Shayne Geidner/Carter Fernau (168) and Peyton Riesberg (120).

Game two found the Blue Devils continuing their hot play. As a team, Wayne shot a team score of 902 to again win the team match. Leading the way for Wayne in game two was Calvin Starzl with a score of 241. Other scorers were James Dorcey (182), Brogan Foote/Carter Fernau (167), Shayne Geidner (165) and Tanner Sievers (147).

The Wayne team of Tanner Sievers, Peyton Riesberg, Carter Fernau, Shayne Geidner and James Dorcey would also go on to win the Baker style game.

Wayne ended the night with a 19-2 victory. The Wayne boys bowling team improved their record to 8-6 on the season and will join the girls team travelling to Hartington on Saturday at noon.
