Wayne Cross Country Has Three Medalists During Mid State Conference Race

ALBION – With the district competition set for next week, the Wayne High cross country team got another chance to run on the same course during the Mid State Conference race Thursday.

From the Albion Country Club, WHS took part in Mid State Conference action.

Due to a mix up in results, no official times have been posted from the host school Boone Central.

According to the Wayne High cross country coaching staff: Laura Hasemann placed ninth while Frantzdie Barner medaled at 15th as Jesus Zavala was the top Blue Devil boys runner at seventh.

If official results are sent out, we’ll have them posted here and on air.

The Wayne High girls and boys cross country team will next compete in the C-3 District race on Thursday, October 15 hosted by Boone Central again at the Albion Country Club. This will be the third time Wayne has competed on the course this year.

District teams will include Battle Creek, Boone Central (host), Columbus Lakeview, Columbus Scotus, Hartington, Logan View, Madison, O’Neill, Pierce, Wayne, West Point-Beemer and Winnebago.
