Wayne Broncos Dominate At Home, Travel To North Bend For Semifinal Action Thursday

WAYNE – Both the Wayne Blue and White Bronco Youth Baseball teams played their final homes games of the season during the 2018 Tri-County League Tournament.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the #4 Wayne Blue Broncos won 8-1 over #12 Wisner Tuesday evening.

Wayne recorded 11 hits with Gavin Redden, Kaden Keller and Colson Nelson all with two hits. Caden Weise and Sam Junck also doubled as Nelson accounted for two of the five stolen bases.

Kaleb Moormeier picked up the win in four innings allowing one run off of five hits while striking out four batters.

Moving into the #1 Wayne White Bronco game with #8 Wakefield, Wayne won 15-3.

Dom Dominguez, Zach McManigal, Devin Anderson, Wyatt Heikes and Aiden Liston all accounted for multiple hits. Keegan Rubendahl, Alex Frank and Calvin Ankeny also hit safely.

Anderson and Dominguez combined for the pitching win.

#1 Wayne White and #4 Wayne Blue will now match up in the semifinal round of the 2018 Tri-County League Baseball Tournament. The game is scheduled for Thursday, July 12 in North Bend with game times to be announced later.

No scores were posted from the other half of the bracket (#3 Lakeview vs. #6 Pender and #2 Oakland/Craig Sluggers vs. #7 Oakland/Craig Cubs).

 

In Didget Tourney play, #1 Wayne White will take on #6 Howells/Dodge while #8 Wayne Blue will battle #5 West Point Patriots tonight. Both games are slated for 6:30 p.m. from Arlington. The final games will be held on Friday, July 13 back in Arlington.
