Wayne Bronco Tournament Team Posts 2-1 Record, 10-Runs Host Team

SPENCER – The White and Blue Bronco Tri County League teams were combined to one Wayne Bronco baseball team and competed in their first tournament of the season this weekend.

From the Spencer Iowa Slugfest Tournament, Wayne went 2-1 by pickup up an 11-1 win over Emmetsburg before suffering a 5-1 loss to LeMars.

Wyatt Heikes picked up the win over Emmetsburg.

The Wayne Bronco Tourney team then defeated Spencer, 16-6. Aiden Liston accounted for the win along with hitting two home runs which was two of Wayne’s 14 hits offensively.

The Tournament team will next compete in the Yutan Tourney this weekend.

Upcoming Tri County League Wayne Bronco games will be on Monday, June 4 when the Wayne Whites (4-0) visit Wisner and the Wayne Blues (3-1) are at the West Point Patriots at 7:45 p.m. As well as Thursday, June 7 when the Whites visit the West Point Twins and the Blues host the West Point Royals.

Upcoming Tri County League Didget games, will also be tonight when the Wayne Blacks (3-1) host Schuyler Red while the Wayne Whites (4-0) are at Wisner and the Wayne Blues (3-1) will visit the West Point Patriots all at 6 p.m.

In Pony league action, Wayne took on the West Point Patriots Sunday evening but no score was reported on the Tri-County League website. Wayne was 3-0 entering the weekend and will next visit Pierce on Wednesday, June 6 at 7 p.m.
