Wayne Blue Didgets Win At West Point Twins, Blue Broncos Top Pierce

WEST POINT/WAYNE – The Wayne Blue Didgets began a two-game week with the same opponent while the Wayne Blue Broncos welcomed in Pierce Monday night.

The Blue Didgets visited the West Point Twins and won 8-5 improving to 2-7 while the Wayne Blue Broncos picked up a 7-5 victory over Pierce to now sit 6-5 on the season from the Summer Sports Complex.

During the Blue Didgets game, Camden Hall and Shawn Thompson both singled and drove in two runs while Easton Gamble added a RBI.

Maddox Heithold picked up the win in four innings allowing two hits while striking out 10 batters. Kash Haase worked an inning before Spencer Moormeier came in for the save in the final inning striking out all three batters.

 

From the Blue Broncos contest, Pierce took the early lead thanks to single runs in the first and third innings before adding three more in the fourth. Wayne knotted the game up with a five-run fourth inning before scoring twice more in the fifth to win 7-5.

Taven Ocampo singled twice and drove in two runs; Brodey Munter singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice while Dylan Jensen singled twice, drove in a run and scored for the Wayne Blue Broncos. Mason Heikes singled, drove in two runs and scored; Jaxson Kneifl and Alejandro Archundia both singled and scored; James Birkel scored as Herwin Bernal and Chase Sturm both singled.

Heikes picked up the win in two and a third innings allowing three hits while striking out one batter. Munter started the opening three and two-thirds allowing five runs (four earned) off three hits while striking out five batters and walking five.
