Wayne Blue Didgets/Broncos Secure Home Victories Over North Bend Orange; Wayne White Didgets Win, Broncos Lose At Logan View Blue

WAYNE/LOGAN VIEW – Tri County League Wayne Didget baseball teams closed out their regular season while the Bronco teams have one game remaining ahead of the league tournament next week.

From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos welcomed in North Bend Orange while the Wayne White Didgets and Broncos visited Logan View Blue.

The Wayne Blue Didgets (8-3) picked up a 12-4 victory against North Bend Orange.

Brayden Wehrer recorded a homerun, two total RBI and three runs scored; Merrick Miller singled, tripled, drove in two runs and scored twice while Harley Poland singled, doubled and drove in three runs.

Sy Chase singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Blake Heithold and Mason Rhods singled, drove in a run and scored; Keaton Hall and Dexter McIntosh both accounted for a RBI as single runs came from Zaven Jurgensen, Treyvan Rager and Tyler Daniels.

Miller (95) picked up the win in four innings allowing four runs (three earned) off two hits while striking out 10 batters and walking five. Heithold (12) worked a scoreless inning not allowing a hit and striking out one batter.

The Wayne Blue Broncos (8-2) defeated North Bend Orange, 13-6.

Reece Ames doubled twice, drove in four runs and scored while Parker Zara singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice.

Easton Endicott singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Easton Gamble singled and scored twice; Kash Haase singled; Colston Starzl, Jackson McMenamin and Liam Rockhill all accounted for a RBI and run scored as Spencer Moormeier scored three times.

Two Wayne Blue Bronco pitchers combined for the no-hitter. Starzl (78) secured the victory in three innings allowing three runs while striking out six batters and walking five. Moormeier (66) worked two innings allowing three runs (one earned) while striking out five batters and walking six.

The Wayne White Didgets (6-5) secured an 8-7 road victory over Logan View Blue.

Ryker Heithold recorded a homerun and two total RBI; Mason Nelson tripled and scored as Isiah Zarate and Daniel Jiminez both doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Brayden McManigal singled, drove in two runs and scored; Dreu Jensen singled, drove in a run and scored; Maxon Judd singled and scored as Benjamin Patefield scored.

A trio of pitchers combined for the victory. Jensen (73) worked three innings allowing two runs off one hit while striking out six batters and walking four. Hudson Kramer (39) pitched two innings allowing an earned run while striking out four batters and walking two. Patefield (9) came in for two-thirds of an inning allowing four runs while striking out one batter and walking three.

The Wayne White Broncos (6-4) suffered a 6-0 loss to Logan View Blue.

Aiden Petersen recorded the lone hit being a single.

Blake Smith (84) suffered the complete game loss in five innings allowing six runs (one earned) off six hits while striking out six batters and walking one.

The Wayne Blue and White Didget teams will be off until the league tournament set to begin on Tuesday, June 28 for both the upper and lower Didget Divisions.

The Wayne Blue Broncos will close out their regular season at Tekamah-Herman Purple at 6:30 p.m. while the Wayne White Broncos will play at Wisner also at 6:30 p.m. with both games on Monday, June 27.

The Upper and Lower Division Bronco first round games will begin on Wednesday, June 29.
