Wayne Blue Didgets, Broncos Drop Road Doubleheader At West Point

WEST POINT – After the Wayne Whites were in action at home against one West Point team, the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos hit to the road Thursday evening to play another.

Wayne visited the West Point Patriots as the Didgets dropped an 8-0 game falling to 1-7 while the Broncos suffered a 3-2 defeat falling to 5-5 on the season.

In the Didgets game, West Point held Wayne to no hits on the game.

Easton Gamble worked three innings striking out three batters as Aiden Peterson pitched two innings and struck out two batters.

 

From the Broncos game, West Point took the early 3-0 lead through two innings before Wayne tallied single runs in the third and fourth innings. The West Point Patriots then held on for the 3-2 victory.

Adrian Contrares doubled and drove in a run while Mason Heikes singled and drove in a run for the Wayne Blue Broncos. Jace Jorgensen singled and scored as Chase Sturm also scored.

Jaxon Kneifl suffered the loss in an inning and a third striking out four batters. Jorgensen worked the final three innings striking out two batters and walking one. As a pitching staff, the Blue Broncos allowed three runs (one earned) off three hits.
