Wayne Blue Didgets, Broncos Drop A Pair Of League Games

WAYNE – Following a non-league weekend loss, the Wayne Blue Broncos were back at home joining the Wayne Blue Didgets.

From the Summer Sports Complex Monday evening, Dodge-Howells topped the Blue Didgets 10-1 while Dodge-Howells defeated the Blue Broncos 11-5.

In the didget contest, Wayne only secured two hits both coming from Spencer Moormeier who also added the lone RBI scoring Shawn Thompson who reached on a walk. The Wayne Blue Didgets are now 1-2 on the season.

Camden Hall worked three innings striking out five batters while Maddox Heithold pitched an inning striking out one batter. Kash Haase also worked an inning striking out two batters.

During the Broncos game, Dodge-Howells jumped ahead 9-0 thanks to five runs in the first and four more in the second. Wayne fired back with five of their own runs in the second but gave up single runs in the fifth and sixth to fall 11-5. The Wayne Blue Broncos are now 3-2 on the season.

Adrian Contrares and Jace Jorgensen (scored) both singled twice and drove in a run while Dylan Jensen singled, drove in two runs and scored. Jaxson Kneifl doubled and drove in a run, Mason Heikes and Taven Ocampo both singled and scored while Chase Nelson scored.

Kneifl worked the opening inning and a third allowing nine runs (eight earned) off nine hits while striking out three batters and walking one. Jorgensen worked three and two-thirds allowing an earned run off two hits while striking out three batters and walking two as Brodey Munter pitched an inning allowing an earned run off two hits while walking two batters and striking out one.

The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will next host the West Point Patriots on Thursday, June 25 at 6/7:30 p.m.
