Wayne Blue Broncos Sweep Wakefield

WAKEFIELD – After securing a win against Pierce Monday night, the Wayne Blue Broncos made up a pair of rain-out games with Wakefield Tuesday evening.

From Graves Park in Wakefield, the Wayne Blue Broncos picked up the doubleheader victory winning 4-2 and 12-8 improving to 8-5 on the season.

In the opening game, Mason Heikes tripled and drove in a run while Adrian Contrares singled twice and drove in a run. Brodey Munter also singled and drove in two runs.

Jaxson Kneifl picked up the complete game shutout win allowing two runs off three hits while striking out 11 batters.

 

During the 12-8 Wayne Blue Broncos victory, Kneifl recorded a two-run homerun and a grand slam. Chase Sturm added a double and two RBI as Alejandro Archundia singled and drove in a run.

James Birkel pitched the first three innings allowing seven runs while Archundia worked three innings allowing one run and striking out six batters.

The Wayne Blue Broncos will next close out their regular season at the West Point Twins with the Blue Didgets on Thursday, July 16 at 6/7:30 p.m.
