Wayne Blue Broncos Suffer One-Run Road Loss, Wayne White All Over Wisner

WAYNE – With two more brackets to be released ahead of the Tri County League Tournament, the Wayne Blue and White Bronco youth baseball teams concluded their regular season Monday evening.

Both teams were on the road.

From Tekamah, Wayne Blue (8-3) suffered a 4-3 road loss at Tekamah-Herman Purple while Wayne White (7-4) picked up a 16-1 road win at Wisner.

In the Blue loss, Jackson McMenamin recorded a homerun while Camden Hall and Liam Rockhill both singled. Colston Starzl and Easton Gamble each accounted for a RBI as Spencer Moormeier and Parker Zara scored.

Starzl (83) suffered the loss in four innings allowing four earned runs off eight hits while striking out eight batters and walking two. McMenamin (13) worked an inning allowing two hits.

During the White victory, Maddox Heithold singled twice, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Will Patefield tripled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Aiden Petersen and Trecyn Ocampo both singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice as Blake Smith singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored.

Noah Magnuson singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice; Karter Hayes singled, drove in a run and scored; Grant Reeg and Sam Leseberg both singled and scored as Evan Greeve scored twice.

Petersen (69) picked up the complete game victory in four innings allowing one run off three hits while striking out six batters and walking three.

The Bronco Gold Tournament (Upper Division, Top 12) and Bronco Blue Tournament (bottom 11 teams) will begin on Wednesday, June 29.
