WEST POINT – The Wayne Post 43 Juniors opened their first game of two this week while the Seniors started a four-game in five day week during a Ralph Bishop League double header Tuesday evening.
From Anderson Field in West Point, Post 70 entertained Wayne Post 43.
In the Juniors game, Wayne opened scoring with a four-run first inning and another three runs in the second inning to lead 7-0. West Point then posted a five-run second inning, before Wayne took control the remainder of the game. Post 43 scored a run in the third, four in the fourth and three more in the fifth to win 15-5 in five innings to improve to 4-0 on the season as West Point is now 2-1.

Reid Korth recorded a four-hit game with two singles, two doubles and three RBI as Gunnar Jorgensen followed with two singles, a double and four RBI. Josh Lutt added a single, double and two RBI; Blake Bartos singled and drove in two runs and Brock Hopkins singled twice and picked up a RBI. Trevor DeBoer and Jacob Kneifl both singled and drove in a run.
DeBoer picked up the win in four innings allowing five runs (two earned) off of three hits while striking out four batters and walking two. Victor Kniesche worked the final inning.
West Point was led by Ray Loftis recording a single and RBI. Blake Anderson suffered the loss in two and two-thirds allowing eight earned runs off of seven hits while striking out and walking one batter each.
From the Seniors contest, West Point struck early with a run in the first before Wayne recorded a five-run third inning while adding single runs in the fourth and fifth. West Point brought in another run in the home half of the fifth before outscoring Wayne 4-3 in the sixth. Wayne held on for the 10-6 win to improve to 4-0 on the season as West Point fell to 3-1.

Just like Korth in the Juniors game, Zane Jackson posted a four-hit contest with two singles, two doubles and two RBI while Payten Gamble picked up three singles and three RBI. Justin Dean singled, doubled and drove in a run, Tucker Nichols added three singles, Brennen O’Reilly doubled and drove in a run as Beau Bowers singled and drove in a run.
Tyler Lutt picked up the win in five innings allowing two earned runs off of seven hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Gamble walked two batters and hit one allowing three earned runs while Adam Bentjen worked the final two innings allowing an earned run off of two hits while striking out two batters and walking one.
Bryant Rief paced West Point with a single, double and two RBI. Derek Petz, Greg Johnson and Austin Streeter all singled and drove in a run. Austin Streeter suffered the loss in four innings allowing six runs (five earned) off of 12 hits while striking out six batters and walking one.
Due to Arlington only being able to field a Senior American Legion baseball team, the Wayne Post 43 Seniors will next visit Arlington on Wednesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. with the Juniors off until Saturday, June 2. West Point Post 70 is next scheduled to visit Logan View on Wednesday.
